Elderwood Workers Are United!

Nursing home workers at Elderwood facilities across WNY are standing up to for-profit owners to demand better! We are forming our union to improve wages, staffing, and working conditions just as thousands of other nursing home workers in our region have already done.

Angel Hillman, Housekeeping Aide, Elderwood at Lockport

I would tell Dr. Rubin and them, they should probably try to trade places with us. See how they do in the conditions we deal with, the short staffing and the people that are getting taken care of. We’re in here day in and day out, taking care of them like they’re our own families.”

Kenatta Robinson, CNA, Elderwood at Williamsville

“I feel disrespected. I have never met the owner or seen him. We are fighting for better benefits, wages, and staffing.”

Virginia Guenther, LPN, Elderwood at Williamsville

“We are fighting for fair and agreeable labor for all of us. All of the staff in all of the departments need more money and we need more help. We work hard to save Elderwood and they don’t help us at all.”
